Slow Sips - August 2023
at The EDDY Multi-Space by Right Angle

A pop-up exhibition platforming primarliy South West Asian and North African (SWANA) artists based within so-called Australia. The exhibition calls for a reflection on slow mediums of practice: sewing, writing, printing, storytelling, and questioning to explore themes of identity, heritage, migration, memory, and the complex interplay between the culture of SWANA and our adopted homes.

Slow sips guides you to move slowly through the work, each with its own story to tell. Some works are complete, others are new, but all ideas have been steeping for a while. Together, we hold culture in many languages, wombs, bellies, threads, meals, and gestures. Slow Sips is about collective storytelling over cups of tea and coffee, reading histories and predicting futures.
